Day 6 - Relax, it's just a rash

Once again I had a restful nights sleep and felt fine when I woke up at 5am.

I checked the rash on my chest and it was now more noticeable. It still was not itchy or uncomfortable.

Yesterday (slightly red with a few minor spots)

Today (similar in colour but far more spots across chest and shoulders)

I reviewed the news online before grabbing my wide-brimmed hat and heading outside to clean the pool. While doing this I noticed the garden needed a bit of a cleanup too in one section, so got the tools out and got stuck into it. One of our many palm trees was growing over our fence into our neighbour's property, so I cut down a few fronds and sawed off a couple of bamboo palm trunks. I finished cleaning up at lunch time, so I had a quick swim in the now clean pool before going inside for lunch.

Lunch consisted of a meat pie, a treat I have once in a while. I had a favourites chocolate and a cup of tea. Of course, I then followed up with my M&T Routine.

Then I laid down and watched the Australian Road (Cycling) Racing Championship on SBS. Fantastic finish to a very tough race. Congratulations to Miles Scotson on riding a perfect tactical race to win in front of a fast finishing, very talented bunch.

Finally, I got to go for a swim. I drove around the local 25m pool because I was short for time and I wanted most of it for swimming. We were heading next door for our neighbour's son's 13th birthday. Fortunately, there was no swimming lessons so the pool was reasonably empty. At least one lane was free, so I jumped into it. I swam 300m warm up, then 1.5km tempo swim at race pace before a 200m warm down. Just the ticket.

That evening we went next door and stayed for dinner - sausage sizzle, lasagne, peri peri chicken and salad - and a chat with a few friends. I had a little birthday cake too. Came home for a cup of tea and my normal M&T Routine, during which I noticed my nose and cheeks had taken on a dark red tone. I assumed it was the same rash that had appeared on my chest and which the Cancer Centre Nurses had said would appear due to the chemo. Like the rash on my chest, it wasn't itchy or uncomfortable but it was a bit tender to touch. I applied some Diprosone cream, a cream I've had prescribed for me for many years to deal with Eczema rashes that appear from time to time and for any other minor skin conditions I've had over the years.

I went to bed around 10.30, still feeling fine.
