Day 3 - Skin Care and Hygeine

Day 3 started out quietly. I felt perfectly normal so had an Up N Go and a cup of tea for brekky.

It was cooler today so after having done a few hours work, Vic and I decided to head to the shops to purchase soap and shampoo. During treatment these need to be free of practically everything that normal products we buy have in them. Being unique in this way, of course, they are 4x the price. We were told the QV range of products were used extensively by cancer patients because they had all the properties required and none of the elements we needed to avoid.

When we got to the shop, we found there were a few similar products, DermaVeen and Cetaphil. We simply found the soap and shampoo and purchased the least expensive of the three brands.

We made some lunch once we got home. I had a ham and cheese toasted sandwich, vegemite roll and cup of tea, followed by my M&T Routine.

During the afternoon I mowed our rather large lawn and patched a couple of spots that needed attention, then had a shower and relaxed for the night.

We had Taco’s for dinner. A favourite in our household. I am told my enjoyment of spicy food is going to be affected by the radiotherapy and it is one of the side-effects that some people report remains with them for years, while others have told me their taste recovers quickly. I’m hoping for a quick recovery.

Did a little more work before completing my M&T Routine and going to bed.
